PRE-RACE INFO

As soon as you complete your registration online, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email with all the basic info you’ll need to know including your wave time, the event location, and other important details. On Monday of race week, we’ll send out an email to everyone with all the event details, and we’ll send out a final email at the end of the week to make extra sure everyone has what they need for the event. If you can’t find these emails, check your spam folder. Also, be sure to join the Facebook event, as we’ll be posting details, updates, and all kinds of content that you won’t want to miss! Reach out if you can’t find what you need, we’re always here to help!

ARRIVAL & PARKING

We’ll open the venue at 8:00am. When you arrive, follow the signs and staff direction to the parking lot. Parking is $10 cash per car. After you get parked, go to registration and we’ll get you checked in and ready to go! We’ll have bathrooms, bag check, and everything you need for a great race experience!

REGISTRATION

Registration opens at 8:00am. We suggest arriving about 45 minutes before your wave time. When you arrive at registration, have QR code ready and we’ll get you checked in. You’ll e-sign a waiver when you register online and be given a QR code to show at the check-in tent. At registration, you’ll also pick up your race packet and course entry wristband. You may check-in for your wave at any time during the event. We can accept cash or card for any payments that need to be made. 

START TIMES

The first wave of the day is at 9:00am. We’ll send waves every 20 minutes after that until the end of the event. The last wave of the day is at noon, unless otherwise specified. You choose your wave time when you register on the signup page for your city's event. Go to the EVENTS tab to find your city and get signed up! Waves are not age group specific. Adults are always welcome to run alongside their children to assist and take photos!

EVENT TIMELINE

Volunteer check-in is at 7:00am. The venue and registration open at 8:00am. The first wave of the day is 9:00am and we’ll send waves off every 30 minutes after that until the final wave of the day. Registration will close at noon and the course will close at 1pm or whenever the last finisher crosses the finish line, whichever comes first, this may be altered based on the event.

All participants will receive a custom finish line swag pack! We’ll also be giving out free stuff from our sponsors and vendors! Race swag must be picked up at the event, if you cannot make the event, you will not receive your swag. You may transfer your registration to someone else.

FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL

In addition to the Obstacle Course, we always try to have a family fun festival as part of the event that features inflatables, games, interactive booths, cool off stations, and much more! Details on this vary from city to city. Reach out if you’d like to be involved!

Bring your family and friends along to join in the fun! You can check out the entire course, just please remain off the running trail and out of the way of the runners, volunteers, staff, and medics. 

WHAT TO WEAR

We recommend closed-toed running shoes for all in attendance. Young Lions™ should wear comfortable, outside clothes and shoes that can get wet and dirty. Pack a towel, plastic bag, and change of clothes.

EVENT RULES

Young Lions under 14 MUST be accompanied to the event by an adult (18+). All Young Lions™ must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian to enter the course. Parents/Adults may accompany their children through the obstacle course to assist and take photos, but are not required to do so.

  • We do not allow alcohol, guns, knives, or weapons of any kind on the event site. 

  • You acknowledge that participating in Young Lions OCR™ carries with it certain inherent risks involved in any obstacle course, and accept the risks associated therewith.

  • Please comply with all directions given by the staff, directors, and medical professionals. Any uncooperative participants or spectators will be removed from the event.

  • You must be able to complete the course without harming yourself or others.

  • You agree that pictures and videos of you and your Young Lions™ may be used for future promotional purposes.

  • Participants must be 5 years of age and under the age of 18 on the day of the race in order to be permitted to run.

  • No Motor Vehicles or other wheeled devices such as skateboards, bicycles, or roller blades on the course.

  • Young Lions OCR™ personnel or staff may remove any participant who is breaking these rules, cheating, threatening harm to himself or others, or for other misconduct.

  • Young Lions OCR™ personnel or staff may examine and remove any participant or spectator who appears to be injured.

  • There will be restrooms on site, use them. Please do not relieve yourself in any other location.

POSTPONEMENT/CANCELLATION POLICY

We have a strict ‘No Refund’ policy. If we host the event, it is your responsibility to attend and arrive on time. The last wave of each event is at noon. We close the course around 1 pm. Due to nature of these events, in rare situations we may be forced to change the date or location because of weather or other circumstances. It is still your responsibility to attend the event. CAN I GET A REFUND?

No. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds if you are unable to attend the event. We reserve the right to alter the event time, date, and location when circumstances require. In such instances, we do our best to offer refund and/or credit to a future event if you cannot attend the reschedule.

If you have registered for an event and you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to someone else. You may also transfer your registration to a future event This transfer must be done before the day of the original race you signed up for. Just send us an email and we can get you the assistance you need.


 CAN I Transfer to a different wave time?

Yes, you may change your wave time. Just send us an email and we can get you the assistance you need. There will be a $5 wave change fee, if you have multiple kids, you only need to pay the $5 once to change their wave. The deadline to change your wave time by email is 2 days before the event, when online registration closes. You may wait until Race Day to change you wave as well, there will be a $5 fee to change into an earlier time slot. If you are late and missed your wave time, you may run in a later wave than you were signed up for free of charge.


 CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Yes, you may transfer your registration to another individual. To transfer your registration, just send us an email and we’ll get you all set. You may also transfer your registration on race day, just have the transferee give us your name and birthday at registration, you do not have to be present. There will be a $5 fee for all transfers.


CAN I TRANSFER TO ANOTHER EVENT?

Yes, you may transfer your registration to any future event for a $5 fee. This change must be made before the date of your original race. Send us an email and we’ll get you squared away.


CAN WE SIGNUP WITH A GROUP OR AS A TEAM?

Yes! We offer amazing group rates for groups as small as three! Email us to set one up today!


IS THERE CHIP TIMING OR A COMPETITIVE WAVE?

No, there will be no timing chips or competitive wave. This event is just for FUN!


 CAN MY FAMILY COME AND WATCH?

Yes, your family and friends are more than welcome to come and watch the race.  Spectators will need to stay off the course and out of the way of runners.  


 CAN I SKIP AN OBSTACLE IF I DON’T FEEL COMFORTABLE COMPLETING IT?

Yes, you may skip any obstacle that you don’t feel comfortable completing. Be safe. Have fun. Our obstacles are designed with lanes for Young Lions™ both large and small. Parents are always welcome to assist and encourage as needed.


IS THERE ANY SWIMMING OR WATER/MUD?

No. There is absolutely no swimming. This is a ninja-style obstacle course, it is not meant to have water or mud elements.


WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? 

Young Lions™ should wear comfortable, outside clothes that can get dirty and closed toed running shoes that can get dirty as well. We suggest bringing a change of clothes/shoes, towel, and a plastic bag just in case.


WHAT IF I CAN’T COME ON RACE DAY?

You may transfer your registration to another person online until registration closes or on race day by giving the person your name and birthday. You may also transfer your registration to a future event. This transfer must be done before the day of the original race you were signed up for. You should make sure you will be able to attend the event before purchasing your registration, just like you would for a concert or sporting event. There will be no refunds for not being able to attend. See the above forms for transfers.


WHAT KIND OF AWARD DO I GET FOR WINNING OR EVEN COMPLETING THE RACE?

There is no competitive wave or podium awards. All participants will receive an epic finishers swag pack!


WILL THERE BE FOOD AND DRINKS THERE?

We always try to have a food vendor at the event selling BBQ, burgers, or the like.  Feel free to bring your own food and beverages.


WILL THERE BE PHOTOS AVAILABLE FROM THE RACE?

Parents are welcome to go through the course with their kids to take as many pictures and videos as they want! We do not provide any professional race photography. This helps keep the costs down and allows us to charge you the lowest possible price! Make sure to take pics and tag us on social media!


 ARE THERE ANY PERKS FOR VOLUNTEERING?

Yes! If you volunteer for a full shift your child may run the race free of charge! Spaces are limited. If you are interested in volunteering, just send us an email and we’ll get back with you!


WILL THIS EVENT BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED?

These events will take place as scheduled. There are no restrictions in place in any of our event locations that would prevent us from hosting this event, and events are already currently happening at these venues. Further, our venues and their local governments do not foresee any changes in our ability to host this event as we move into the spring and summer. Of course, we reserve the right to postpone the event in circumstances such as severe weather or other similar situation outside of our control. In that case, we would just reschedule it for a future date.
